About Bátor Tábor

The mission of Bátor Tábor is to give back the cloudless childhood for seriously, chronically ill children, to support their mental health, and to help them live a fulfilled life.

Bátor Tábor Foundation provides life-enhancing experiences for children with cancer and other chronical diseases in Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland, and Slovakia. Since 2001, we have given courage and strength to more than 15,000 participants. Over the years, the foundation's program range has grown constantly, and today in addition to the recreational therapy camps, we also take the Bátor Tábor experiences to hospitals and schools. Thus, we are standing by these kids from the hospital setting to their return to school, and support their mental health. With the GO! hospital outreach program we visit hospitals all along the year, and from spring to autumn we organize various camps at our camp site in Hatvan. In 2021, we launched our newest program, with the School program we assist the kids’ reintegration into school and also help the whole class to become a better community. In Hatvan, besides the summer camps, in spring we welcome ill children with their healthy siblings to support their overstrained relationship. And in autumn, we provide experiences for those families who raise a child with serious illness under the age of 7. Since 2013 we organize Bereavement Camps for families who lost the battle against the disease.

All the programs of Bátor Tábor are free of charge, the foundation operates only from corporate and private donations. The aim of Bátor Tábor is to set an example with its transparent and ethical operation, to develop the culture of donation and volunteering in the region, and thus to help us live in a more empathetic, inclusive and tolerant society.
